About the Centre Director

Smt. Veena Sharma Bhusnoormath is basically from Hubballi, She completed her training in ‘Design and Direction' at National School of Drama, New Delhi from 1998-2001. Prior to NSD, she underwent one year theater training at Ninasam Ranga Shikshana Kendra, Heggodu during 1996-97.

Smt. Veena has honored her professional skills in all aspects of theatre. As coordinator of theater festivals organized by National School of Drama, she was the coordinator for 8th Theater Olympics, Bharat Ranga Mahotsav, National Theater Festival, Classical Indian Theater Festival, Rashtriya Purvottara Festival, Prajyots Festival and Adirang Utsav. Also, as a resource person for theater education, she has conducted theater workshops in other parts of South India including Bangalore and also in North India. Her workshops are popular in China and Japan as well.

She has lectured on many topics as a guest lecturer at Bharatendu Natya Academy- Lucknow, Himachal Research Forum and Repertory Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Neenasam, Seagal Guwahati, Manipur, Rangayana, Mysore (Seede Project), Rangayana Dharwad and Sriram Center New Delhi.

She directed more than 150 plays like, Bhudene Kaha, Lagi Chutena, Muvabje, Apne Apne Daanv, Dharmayudhda, Rasik Sampadak, Bela Maryjan, Nakaleela, Par Hame Khelna Hai, Ifakath, Miss Fortune, Cross Purpose, Mother Courage, Kadidid Neeru, Gode, Samrat Ashoka.

Presently she has been working as the Centre Director of National School of Drama Bangalore Center since 1st September 2021.
